Overview
LT;DR / Problem

Problem

Nord Anglia Education prioritised Wellbeing, Resilience, and Purpose (WRP) as a key strategic focus. However, schools lacked a scalable, structured approach to embedding wellbeing into daily learning experiences.

The challenge was to create a culturally adaptable, evidence-based toolkit that supported both students and teachers while aligning with corporate objectives for safeguarding, engagement, and teacher development.

In Action

The Wellbeing Toolkit on Global Campus helps students gain valuable insights and develop the necessary skills to navigate any social and emotional challenges they may encounter during their time at school.

The impact extends beyond the classroom walls. Students learn skills that they can apply in their daily lives, benefiting their relationships, personal growth, and academic performance. By nurturing their wellbeing, students are better equipped to handle stress, develop self-confidence, and cultivate positive relationships with their peers and teachers.

After having taught a lesson about Emotional Intelligence from the Toolkit, the children understood what this was, especially the meaning of empathy. A week later, while reading The Twits by Roald Dahl, I asked my students about the Roly Poly bird:

"What do you understand about Roly-Poly’s character when he offers to take Muggle Wump and his family all the way back to Africa?"

One of the students in my class raised her hand and said:

"It shows that the Roly-Poly bird is very kind and has a high level of emotional intelligence!"

I wasn’t expecting to hear the words "emotional intelligence" in the middle of a guided reading session.

Scalability & Next Steps

As the Wellbeing Toolkit continues to evolve, the next phase of development includes:

  • Expanding Cultural Adaptations

    • Further tailoring content for diverse global school environments.

  • Enhancing Digital Interactivity

    • Incorporating real-time feedback loops and more engaging online activities.

  • Integrating Longitudinal Impact Studies

    • Strengthening KPI tracking to measure long-term student wellbeing improvements.

  • Introducing Financial Literacy & Life Skills

    • Expanding the toolkit to include financial wellbeing topics, such as budgeting, responsible spending, and decision-making, in response to teacher feedback and student resilience goals.
